James Chapter 3: Part two
Verse 13:
“Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.”

• Meekness=humbly patient or docile
• The wise may “show off” but without boasting or pride.
• He/she can show off, not with words but good conduct or good behavior. (actions speak louder than words)

Verse 14:
“But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.”

• Bitter jealousy and selfish ambition do not build, but destroy; therefore it shall not be done.
• Jealousy and selfish ambition bring disorder and every vile practice with it.

Verse 17:
“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.”
Pure= Without imperfections or impurities.
Peaceable= Not argumentative or hostile.
Gentle= Not severe, rough or violent.
Open to reason= Capable of rational behavior; open to other thought.
Full of mercy= Compassion shown towards an offender.
Good fruit= Positive impacts and growth of a person or persons.
Impartial= Not Bias, but fair.
Sincere= Free of deceit or hypocrisy.

• God’s wisdom spreads through ourselves and the community with a positive impact.
• True wisdom does not destroy, yet it builds up people and communities.
• It connects them.
