James: Chapter 1

Verse 2-4:

Testing of Your Faith
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
 

• We are going to face trials and we are going to face often in our lives.
• When we allow ourselves to grow from our trials we are being solidified in our faith and we will soon become stronger people.

Verse 5-6:
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.”

• When we desire something that will bless our lives or further our ministry, we must ask in faith, believing that God can, and will, answers our prayers.
  
• That means that our prayers must be aligned with the word and the will of God.
• If there is any sort of doubt in our minds or heart than we have shown God that we are not fully committed to what we are praying for.
  

Verse 12:
 “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”
